
Erik Pavia
Erik Pavia is Chief of Staff at Village Global.
Erik has spent his career working with early stage companies, founder support organizations, and teaching about entrepreneurship. He was previously an early team member and head of ops at StartX, an educational nonprofit working with Stanford founders, on the founding team and COO of Knotch, a marketing analytics company, and he founded a consumer fitness company. Erik is also a clinical professor at The University of Texas at El Paso where he teaches business courses related to startups and law. He has a BBA from UTEP and a JD from Stanford.

What’s the common thread that runs through your career?
Empowering others has motivated my career in both tech and education. Technology expands our capabilities, while education enables us to reach our fullest potential. Whether building organizations, products, systems, or sharing insights that help people improve their lives - creating this kind of impact is what drives me.
What’s one of your superpowers?
Simplifying complex or convoluted problems.
A book you commonly gift to people?
Ender’s Game for people new to science fiction. The Four Hour Body for people who say they want to improve their health and don’t know where to start. The Book of the New Sun for people who say they want a challenge.

I like to lift, run, write, and visit VC websites to read all the interesting bios.
